Compact Deployable Overview

Compact deployables also know as COAM (customer-owned and maintained) deployables are products that provide an enterprise-level solution for incident support.  This category of solution is normally capable of rapid deployment and transport to an incident without the use of dedicated vehicles or can be stored and deployed locally by incident command staff.

The solutions provide support for a single site or campus while being cost-effective enough to be owned and operated by a single organization. These solutions typically provide more capabilities than suitcase or handheld type solutions that may only provide support for a command center or single department.

These types of solutions may be considered when your emergency response planning needs to fill the gap of providing management capabilities or connectivity solutions between the start of an incident and the support that may eventually be provided by vendors or local and federal government resources responding to the incident.  This gap in support may last a few hours or a few days depending on the severity of the incident.

FirstRunner from PodRunner

FirstNet Cell Service CRD (Compact Rapid Deployable) system.

This system has a satellite uplink connected to a built-in LTE/FirstNet antenna that allows the local broadcast of a cellular signal when no local cell towers are available or in service.  It is designed with an integrated wheeled platform that can be pulled by one person for local deployment or attached to a standard trailer hitch for vehicle deployment.  The solution has a built-in generator and fuel supply to provide stand-alone power.  Deployment of the satellite dish and cell antenna mast is controlled by the system and requires very little technical knowledge or training to operate enhancing its ability to be deployed by incident command staff.

Benefits:

  • Provides Cellular Bubble Coverage Up to a 2-Mile Radius (Depending on Obstructions in Operating Area)
  • Can be Deployed in 15 Minutes
  • Detaches from the Carrying Vehicle
  • Fills the Average 14-Hour Response Time-Gap of Large Regionally Located Deployables
